Shabu shabu is a traditional Japanese dish of very thinly sliced beef, briefly swished around in simmering water, and eaten with a flavorful sesame seed-based sauce. In addition to beef, vegetables such as Napa cabbage, green onions, sliced carrots, and mushrooms are also cooked in the pot and eaten with ponzu, a soy and vinegar-based sauce.
